Indian mother in law burns daughter to abort her baby girl

This is a very heart touching story of a 27 year old pregnant woman. Her name is S Girija and she is from eastern India. The woman was attacked by her mother in law and her sister in law. It is said that an astrologer had redacted that the expecting woman has a baby girl in her womb. When her mother in law learned about it she could not bear it. She didn’t want a baby girl in her house since girls are not considered to be good in our society.

The discrimination between girl and boy still exits and as a part of this the mother in law of Mrs. Girija tried to harm her in order to abort her baby girl. They were so blind that they just believed on what the astrologer had said without knowing anything in details. The two women had poured a powerful acid on her baby bump to kill her unborn baby.

The pregnant lady collapsed and she was taken to the hospital. Now she has been taking treatment and is recovering in the hospital. The investigation shows that the women were attempting to kill both Girija and her unborn baby after an astrologer said she was expecting a daughter. Her mother in law is on the run, but her husband and father in law have been arrested for the attempted murder investigation. Girija already had an 18 month old daughter.

The woman is severely burn. This kind of news emerging from India is not a new thing. This is the reality they are facing. Many women are burnt alive for not bringing sufficient dowry and for giving birth to a daughter. It is a kind of sin for them to have a daughter. They never have a good response for daughters and are considered as a burden.
